Blood pressure changes throughout the day, and in some people it is raised only in the clinic ("white coat" effect) or the reverse — normal at the visit but high at home. A single reading is therefore often not enough to decide on.
The device automatically measures pressure at set intervals while you are at work, at home, and asleep. From all those readings it produces a daytime average, a night-time average, and whether the pressure falls normally overnight — a figure that matters for assessing risk.
The cuff is fitted to the upper arm and the device activates itself at each measurement. When you feel the cuff tighten, simply keep your arm relaxed and still. Based on the recording, a diagnosis of hypertension is confirmed or ruled out and treatment is adjusted.

Vorbereitung
Wear a loose shirt or T-shirt under which the cuff sits comfortably. Live as you normally would — an ordinary day is exactly what is being measured. Take your medication as prescribed and note when you took it, as well as when you went to bed and got up.
